Colly's shoulder woe

Durham say Paul Collingwood should be fit to play in the first Test at Lord's despite an ongoing shoulder injury.

The England all-rounder picked up the problem against Sri Lanka last winter and it has resurfaced just days before the start of the three-Test series with the Black Caps.
The 31-year-old was forced to have a pain-killing injection during the recent four-day game with Lancashire, which Durham lost by a massive 232 runs at Old Trafford.
Despite the concerns over Collingwood's fitness, Durham director of cricket Geoff Cook is adamant that it will not stop the talented right-hander turning out for England against the Kiwis on May 15.

"I don't think there is any fear of him missing any cricket," he said.
Collingwood has been tipped as the man to make way for Andrew Flintoff when the Lancastrian returns after a fourth ankle operation but the England middle-order star will not give up his place easily.
"Runs would be good to get that confidence going, but I'll back myself to go out there and score out in the middle when the time comes," he said.
"I am sure that everybody has got me down as the first one off the team sheet but I am a battler."
